Macbeth-Impact of the three witches on Macbeth

Macbeth is a well-known  play by Wiiliam Shakespeare.
It is considered to be one of his finest tragedy play.

In this article I will be summarizing the influence of The Three Witches on Macbeth.

The character of Macbeth is the protagonist of the play.

There is a supernatural element in the play of The Three Witches also known as the weird sisters.

Macbeth, who is initially the hero of the play becomes a criminal to the end under the influence of the weird sisters.

The witches symbolize the force of evil in the play. They are the ones who tempt Macbeth to commit such heinous crimes.

Also, they are objective in nature and not mere imagination of Macbeth's mind specially when Banquo too sees them.

Since, Macbeth has an ambitious mind: therefore the prophecies put forth by the sisters invoke a sense of greed in Macbeth's mind.

The witches  cause Macbeth both rise to power and fall to death. They influence the soul but only when the soul has admitted evil to dwell in it.

The very first scene of the play is of the  witches. Their Character is disconnected from the good. They are shadowy creatures and  lawless of human nature.

The witches control Macbeth's actions indirectly.

It is just because of the evil prophecies of the witches that the most noble man of Duncan becomes his murderer.

The Witches in the play influence Macbeth to make wrong decisions which lead to his downfall followed by death.
